Songkran Festival

Welcome to the Songkran Festival at The Midwest Buddhist Meditation Center! We are excited to invite you to join us on Sunday, April 23rd, 2023 from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM for a day of celebration and tradition.

The Songkran Festival is the Thai New Year and is a time to honor our ancestors, show gratitude, and connect with our community. At the Midwest Buddhist Meditation Center, we will be hosting an alms-giving ceremony where you can offer food and other offerings to the Buddhist monks. This is a beautiful and humbling experience that will help us appreciate the importance of giving and selflessness.

Following the alms-giving ceremony, we will have Dhamma Talks to teach and inspire us on our spiritual path. We believe that the teachings of the Buddha can help us live a more peaceful and fulfilling life, and we are excited to share them with you.

But that's not all! We also have a Sacred Watering Ceremony, where we will pour water over Buddha statues as a symbol of cleansing and purification. And for the kids, we have gifts and water games to make the day even more fun and memorable.

We invite you to come celebrate with us at The Midwest Buddhist Meditation Center. Whether you're a long-time member or a newcomer, this festival is for everyone. Let's come together to honor our past, appreciate our present, and look forward to a bright future. See you there!
