*Vinnana Khandha – group of citta (mind, state of consciousness) acknowledges (general awareness) sense-objects.

Yesam parinnāya, Dharamāno so bhagavā, Evam bahulam sāvake vineti,
The Blessed One frequently reminded his disciples to contemplate these 5 clinging - aggregates.

Evam bhāgā ca panassa bhagavato sāvakesu anusāsanī, Bahulam pavattati:
The Bless One further explained to his disciples that:

Rūpam aniccam, Vedanā aniccā, Sannā aniccā, Sankhārā aniccā, Vinānam aniccam,
Form (body) is impermanent, Feeling is impermanent, Perception is impermanent, Mental processes (formations) are impermanent, Consciousness is impermanent.

Rūpam anattā, Vedanā anattā, Sannā anattā, Sankhārā anattā, Vinnānam anattā,
Form (body) is not-self, Feeling is not-self, Perception is not-self, Mental processes (formations) are not-self, Consciousness is not-self,

Sabbe sankhārā aniccā, Sabbe dhammā anattāti
All conditions are impermanent, all nature of things are not-self.

Seeing object:
Eye and a visible object - Rupakkhandha,
Awareness of this visible object – Vinnanakkhandha
Perception identifies this object as… - Sannakkhandha
Feeling responds to this object – Vedanakkhandha
Volition responds with conditioned reaction to this object – Sankharakkhandha

These mental and physical phenomena or the nature of these 5 aggregations is arising and passing away all the time --> constantly change or impermanent. Once delusion (moha) or ignorance (avijja) is removed and we understand these phenomena as they truly are, we will realize the nature of existence that is not permanent, not-self, attachment to the existence will be eliminated.

For example, contemplating body (I, my body, my possession - clinging) by dividing into 4 elements (20+12+4+6 = 42 items), they are subject to change, decay, nothing is permanent, no self in there. Same as our state of mind: arises then disappears, keeps changing (happy, sad, etc.), there is no self in both body and mind --> no entity, no ego.

Cira-parinibbutampi tam bhagavantam saranam gatā, Dhammanca sanghanca
Though the Blessed One attained parinibbana long ago, we have reached the Buddha, and taken that Buddha, his Teachings (Dhamma), and his Disciples (Sangha) as our refuge and guidance.

As strength allow us to practice and mindfulness in the Teachings of the Blessed One, may this practice lead us to the extinction of all sufferings.
